What is a painting session like at Pickled Picasso?
At Pickled Picasso, the goal is to have a couple of hours away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a stress-free environment that boasts a relaxed, social-group setting. You can either come alone or bring your closest friends. One of our talented art instructors will walk you through the featured painting of the night, step-by-step… brush stroke-by-brush stroke. At the end of the session, you will truly be amazed at your inner artist! Your painting will be ready to take home, hang and show off with pride!
BYOB! We encourage you to bring your beverage of choice (whether it be coffee, wine, coke, or beer), and food if you’d like. The beauty of having a glass of wine while painting is relaxing that perfectionistic side that stresses about painting! We encourage you to bring whatever you would like, but we also fully support and welcome non-drinkers. Just bring what makes YOU happy.
Are reservations required?
Reservations are strongly encouraged. Sessions fill up fast and we do not want you to miss out! To reserve a space, view our Calendar, click on the date and painting you are signing up for, and pay right there through our secure website. If you are coming with a friend, or a group of friends, make sure you put the list of names in the section that asks about who you would like to sit with. Seating is reserved and we try our best to make sure friends get to sit together.
*Walk-ins are welcome if arriving 30 minutes prior to the session, and if seats are available.
What time should I arrive for a session?
Evening classes typically begin at 7:00pm. We recommend getting here about 20 minutes early to get signed in, to get your apron on, to find your seat, and to pour your favorite drink prior to the session. The painting session starts right on time!
Do you provide alcohol?
We do not provide alcohol. At Pickled Picasso, it is strictly BYOB… whatever beverage and snack makes you happy, bring that! We have a “bar area” where you can put your food and drinks.
What is included in the price of a Pickled Picasso night?
The price of the Pickled Picasso event includes the canvas that we will be using that evening (typically a 16x20 stretched canvas), but there will be nights when we use wood, palettes, wine glasses, and other items, all of which are covered in the cost. Also covered in the cost are the paints, use of brushes, easels and aprons, as well as the embellishments used the night of the event. You can purchase additional embellishments if you so choose, but most are covered in the cost of the night. We also provide wine glasses, corkscrews and bottle openers. Finally, you are paying for the expertise of a skilled art instructor who will walk you through your painting, step-by-step, until your masterpiece is complete. The memories you will make at a Pickled Picasso night are a bonus, and truly PRICELESS!
What if I have no art experience?
No experience? No worries! Sometimes the complete novice creates the most amazing painting! Our artists will walk you through the process, step-by-step, until your masterpiece is complete!
What should I wear?
At Pickled Picasso, we provide aprons, but we strongly encourage you to wear something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on. The acrylic paint you will be using does not come out of clothes. Be casual… it’s a relaxed environment!
If I come with a friend or a group, can I sit with them?
We do our very best to have groups of friends sit together. When you sign up, PLEASE make sure you write the name(s) of the friends you are coming with. Seating is assigned and space is very limited, so let us know before the event so that we can get you by your peeps!
How long do sessions last?
Painting sessions are approximately two hours. They start right on time, and we try to finish on time as well. There will be some nights on the calendar that offer a three-hour painting, but for the most part, two hours will allow you the relaxation, the fun, and the completed masterpiece!
What is your cancellation policy?
To be fair to all, we will not make exceptions to the following rules:
- If you cancel 48+ hours in advance, a full refund will be issued.
- 24+ hours in advance cancellation, we will issue a studio credit to attend a future event or equal or lesser value, to be used within 90 days.
- Less than 24 hours: We will issue a 30% off voucher code which will expire 90 days after issue.
- No Shows: No refunds or credits issued.
Can we host a private party or fundraiser at Pickled Picasso?
Yes, absolutely! We love private parties and fund raisers. Please go to the Private Events, Fundraisers, and Portable Picasso tabs located on the home page for more information.
When does the new schedule come out?
The new schedule will come out approximately four weeks before the next months’ classes start. If you missed a painting that you really wanted to learn, let us know… we will take all requests into consideration when creating each new schedule.
Do I have to paint the featured painting of the night?
Absolutely not! You are welcome to paint whatever you want or choose a different painting on our wall during any of our sessions. And, if you like the featured painting but want to use different colors, you are free to do so. Some people like to follow the instruction step-by-step, while others like to think outside of the box. It’s all about creative expression. We love to see what people create.
